Meet The Officers


James D. Bane, President

Mr. Bane is a 1988 Graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and a 1993 Graduate of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Apprenticeship Program. In the summer of 1990, he went to work for a local contractor, F.K. Everest, where he later became Vice President of Operations and Partner in the firm.

In the fall of 2007, Mr. Bane decided it was time to open his own company. On January 4, 2008 he and Chris Rush established Mon Valley Electric, Inc.

Mr. Bane is actively involved with the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) where he currently serves as President, he sits on the Board of Directors for the Construction Employer’s Association of North Central West Virginia (CEA), and numerous other industry improvement committees.

Mr. Bane and his wife Jodie have three children; Chasydi, Colt, and Darbi. Mr. Bane is a lifelong resident of Monongalia County, West Virginia. He enjoys traveling, golfing, and spending time on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.


Chris A. Rush, Vice-President

Chris is the co-owner and Vice President of Mon Valley Electric, Inc. He is a Marion County native and North Marion High School graduate. In 1981, Chris graduated from the Industrial Electricity Program at the Marion County Vocational Technical Center. He began his electrical career at V&W Electric and Tolley Electric Company, employed in sales and purchasing. In 1991, Chris transitioned into electrical estimating for F.K. Everest, Inc. As a partner in the firm, he served as company treasurer, project manager, safety implementation and service director. In 2007, Chris partnered with James Bane to open Mon Valley Electric, Inc.

Chris resides in Fairmont with Christina, his wife of more than thirty years. He has two daughters: Haley is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Lindsy is a Physician Assistant. Chris is an avid hunter, fisherman, and model train collector. Professionally, he is actively involved in NECA, Construction Employer’s Association, and IBEW 596 JATC Committee.
